More room for bromfieldii seedlings

I can't believe they've grown so much (sown 29.10.2010). Growing plants from seed is an amazing experience. Even if it takes a long time, like it does in case of Lithops. These bromfieldii v. glauidnae will be two years old in a couple of months and deserve a less crowded place to live.
I was relieved to see they are all in a good shape. Still I can't dare hope for flowers sooner than next year. :)

    1. Thank you :)
I am most proud of the lithops grown from seed. My seedlings seem to be on a hiatus these days - transplanting might wake them up and when they do they'll "see" that they have more room to grow now.

  2. Wow these are beautiful! May I ask about your growing conditions, do you use a greenhouse? My 2 year old Lithops seem healthy, but they are so much smaller than these! The largest is about 1cm in diameter. I grow them on a windowsill and do not fertilize. What is your secret?

    1. Thank you, I'm very fond of them, too. :)
Don't worry about yours - being smaller is a good healthy thing! We don't grow them for sale after all. :D
I think my macro photos are a bit misleading. The pots I'm (mostly) using are 5x5cm. Among these bromfieldii seedlings the largest is 1,8cm (long side) and the smallest 1,1cm. I grow all of my plants on a window sill, not in a greenhouse. Hm, no idea what the secret is, I'm often pretty careless with them. Still I watch them closely and try to react to their needs timely :)
